First, it sucked, why, too many prizes, too little performances. I technically spent 9/10 of the time taking pictures of people getting prizes.
2nd, some prizes were just ridiculous. If you had like prizes from 1st to 3rd place, I am all right with it. But up to 7th place? What is this?
In addition, there were only two performances in between which were not sufficent to break the dull momentum of the hall. (I caught a teacher in the singing performance who had wrote the song lyrics on his palm. Go to my gallery and find it.)
But it was better (in a way) taking pictures then sitting with the audience and stoning.
Sometimes I think some organisers are too inflexible or too dumb.

By the way, Mrs Kok is leaving… Darn. She is a great principal! But she can be a little long winded and naggy but I think she’s great, if you meet her upfront, like I did, when Si Hui passed their class gift to her.
The school also officially opened a new science research lab but it has no furniture yet, haha. It looks cool. Its called the ReD lab. Re = Research and eD backwards, De means development. Poor Fann Ming from 1S08 was the MC for the ReD lab. He stumbled alot during the introduction of the ReD lab to the guests before it was declared opened by Mrs Kok. I guess he was too anxious.
Next year’s Commendation day better be better! Though I probably be busy preaparing my A’s and won’t be watching it…

2 days ago, my darling 18-55mm lens was badly damaged till it was irrepairable. It happened on 25th October 2006 at approximately 1920 hours as I was going home. The bus I was taking jammed brake as it was leaving the bus stop. Coincedentally, I was not holding on to anything and I felt backwards. My bag hit the railing of the staircase on the second deck of the bus before i could grab hold of anything. Why the bus jammed braked? Bus driver said this: There was a car that went pass and he had to brake, if not he would hit the car. The problem is, aren’t they supposed to look out for vehicles before exiting the bus stop?
Luckily, my camera body, my dad’s digital camera, a 55-200mm lens and my dad’s laptop was spared from the carnage. I have already filed a claim to SBS “Claim Department”. Hoping to get confirmation soon. The reason why this incident has pissed me off big time because I needed the lens for Commendation Day the next day. And my other lens was a telephoto zoom lens which was not suitable for the next day. In addition, I found out during the ODAC dinner that my telephoto lens was not focusing properly and need some servicing. Lastly, you can’t get a replacement for the model of that damaged lens as it come in a frigging camera kit only and it cost SGD$1500. The nearest subsitute lens cost SGD$600! And that’s the amount I am going to claim, unless they want to buy a new kit for me. :D Jonathan from ODAC was luckily there to back my story. I even saw him stumble when the bus braked. But I should have asked a few commuters for thier numbers to have a solid story. I was probably too traumatised to think straight then. I think someone was cursing me that day. KNNB, CCB, F***, Tiew Le Lo Moh.

Thanks to Mr Alan Tan from the PE Department for lending me his 18-70mm lens and his SB-800 flash unit which saved me. Thank you for also offering me your lens for personal usage while I waited for my claim.

Here’s an image of the damaged lens.

Palette pictures and the october birthday celebration ones are up at my gallery…

My favourite picture from Palette,

Personally, I think they guys in there look quite good, the pose and etc. I probably need more hunky ones next time =p
Here’s the soccer girls and ODAC girls taking together. Quite a crazy bunch. Although some had ‘latency’ problems. (a.k.a, lagging)
The worst would be netball girls at the dance studio. I.E this….

Some of the pictures were a little under-saturated, not punchy enough, some were outta focus. I think I gonna need a better camera body. D80? I wouldn’t mind having a 300mm f/2.8 lens, hehe. Any sponsors out there? It was also my first time fully utilising my monopod, almost wanted to sell away the ball head. Maybe not selling it was a smart choice!

The birthday outing pictures was taken with Justin Sony DSC T-5 (if i remembered correctly = p). Not a bad camera and quite fast at shooting continously at 3MP. Didn’t bother to try 5MP though… Justin, why did you buy a 5MP camera but used it at 3MP? You had more than enough memory space right??? Here’s a group photo.[image:7535:c:s=1:l=d]

Just went night biking with Justin and Adrian. Justin’s and my dinner was Burger King’s BBQ Turkey Meal. We shared the meal. Imagine two guys, sitting at public benches, spiliting the burger into halves. Pathetic. Adrian had a proper dinner at home before coming, which explained why he was freaking late. Later we bike off to East Coast Park(ECP). It was quite fun riding together, especially since we seldom met each other recently. The traffic too was quite smooth and the weather was great so it was almost perfect conditions for biking. It was almost 2045 hours.
We bumped into a few ex-bdsians who were having a BBQ cum Chalet at ECP, which I and Justin wasn’t informed of… We rode off first to Kallang, then to CycleCraft shop, pass Parkway Library and to 7-11 near Parkway Parade FairPrice. We then went back to visit the BBQ. We lotiered around before proceeding to Bedok Jetty to take a breather and chit chat. It was rather relaxing at the Jetty, the air was much better compared to last time, less fishy smell. The two guys later left, while I continue to bike around. Time = 2320 hours.
I sped at approximately 28Km/h from the jetty to about pit 12 before turning back and speeding back to the underpass near Victoria School. I was on the verge of pulling my calve muscles but I didn’t really give a damm about it. I just wanted to ride my problems and troubles away. Reached home at about 0000 hours and had my dinner cum supper. I cooked omelette with salted vegetables. And wrapped it in bread = my meal. Omelette is my signature dish, if you are interested, feel free to come over and eat =p But i think my quality has dropped a little. Heh heh.
Anyone interested in night biking? I plan to meet up at least twice or more a month. Friday nights would be the best time. If time persits, we can even go to city area like orchard but remember safety first!
