YIppie! Finally, it has ended! Chingay! The experience of shooting Chingay was unique as it was my first time watching Chingay and i didn’t really know much about it. In addition, I had “first class” passes, free to move in and out of the area and a reasonable amount of freedom to move around to take the performers, the volunteers and spectators in action. Thanks Heartware Network for letting me have the opportunity to cover the event. But it was rather intimidating with all the press photographers and other freelancers with their big tele-zoom lens and gear. Sometimes I just find myself like an ant. I wonder how those that used compact digital cameras or film would feel like… Bacteria, a cell or an electron? Hahahaha.
Anyway, my total shots for Chingay Parade (both preview and actual) just close to 1000. Scrunitnize the preview pictures already of around 300 shots to just 210 pictures. My other “records” are, 12 batteries of Powerex rechargable AA batteries, 4 IKEA AA batteires, 4 camera batteries, tons of Polar water (thanks for the sponsorship), Subway Chicken Terrayki and Brownie, Burger King Mushroom Swiss Double Meal, Orange Julius Hot Dog Combo Meal consisting of BBQ Chicken Hotdog and Orange Juice, Vicks VapoDrops lozenges (Butter Menthol) and a few other stuff that are pretty redundant to mention. I only have 8 Powerex rechargeables and 2 camera batteries…. I recharged them after each parade, just to note in case some ****** think I am nuts.
Now I am going to take a loooooonnnng nap while my gallery adds the Chingay Parade preview pictures. I will scrunitnize the rest of the Chingay Parade pictures soon, hopefully by Sunday :
Update: Both preview and actual parade pictures are up.
Just wanna thank a few people before I make a move, firstly, Heartware Network, next my cousin, Liana who guided me with her fantastic photographic skills, my parents who let me stayed out so late and let me pursue my interest, the ClubSnap rental guy, Kenny who lent me his Sigma 10-20 lens for 60bucks over 2 days, the taxi drivers who drove my fat ass and my cousin home, my cousin father who drove us there, the volunteers I have met at Chingay, the people I took and last but not least, my dearest camera equipment!
Please visit my gallery(under Heartware Network), under Affiliations tab to check out the pictures and my Cousin’s website, under Kinship tab to see her share of shots. Free feel to tell your friends about our sites and let them have pleasure viewing our shots.

The pictures in my gallery are at 1024 pixels in width or 768 pixels in height @ 65% quality, good enough to fit most of your screens and possibly suitable for some light printing. But if you do need the originals e-mail me the filename that you want (its under the information area under the picture). You guys and gals should be smart enough to find my e-mail… (Hint: somewhere in my blog) I will do my best to send you the pictures ASAP.
A picture of me and my two seniors on preview day.
