First, I love Apple Macbook Pro, the latest one. The specs are great, especially the high performance graphics card, 8600GT. How often do you see such kind of power pack laptop. Even Sony or other brands have 6600GT graphics card on the highest or mid-high range laptops. Only applies to Singapore products…

I understand overseas brands such as Alienware produce high-end laptops with high-end specs that can rival high-end desktops. But those are often out of most reach especially with price tags of 5k and above. And these laptops are not feasible. 1, they are probably going to be heavy. 2, the battery life don’t last long, unless you intend to fix it on your table, permanently. 3, if you follow step 2, you must be filthy rich to waste your money when you can probably save alot by buying a desktop. 4, warranty issues since these products need to be imported. 5, our pockets aren’t that deep.

Don’t ask me why, but there’s this affinity for me to Apple products. They just work great and feel great. It makes you different from others. But now everyone has an iPod, which makes it a cult icon. But imagine, using Apple Mac OS on a Mac Laptop. People would probably go “gagago” and you may need to protect your laptop from drools, not coffee spills. I especially love Apple TV advertisments. They really critcise almost every side of Windows related products though a few are not really exact but these TV ads are true reasons to why one should abandon Windows and take on Apple.

Many may feel that using Mac at first may be a chore. But this is mainly due to our mind being used to using Windows. They are people saying that if you take a kid who never used a PC before, the kid will know how to use a Mac over a Windows platform. Though, no prove has surfaced that I know of, I strongly believe this is so.

Even their softwares are examples to their ease of usage, Lightroom, iMovie, iTunes, iPhone, iPod and the list goes on and on. Anything from Windows? Solitaire, Calculator, Notepad, Paint? It is normal for me to get fustrated over a Windows product and everyday we have a problem, 1, 2, 3 weeks later, we get a patch. After 10,20,30 patches, the computer slugs and its time for a reformat. And back to square 1. Sometimes, you patch, your computer crash. And there goes invaluable data down the drain.

I like my friend’s blog, dewei. He is a supporter of Apple products, though some might say he just doing it because he works in an Apple shop. This is his testimant. I also like the last part of his stuck in a lift video. Made on an apple.
I just gotta say, Apple products rock! (PS: I hate their iPod exchange service…)

Note: If anyone is organising a support Apple “riot”, please contact me? Tanks!

Finally Hitman the movie is being created! Just saw the movie teaser and expecting a great movie. Enjoyed watching the teaser, but I do have some comments about it and the movie.

Well, the teaser was great! I love the music, it gives that eerie feeling that usually is associated with the Hitman game series. The movie setting was nice too, some resemblance to what people often see in the game. Though, I kind of got confused at one part where the captions state that he was protected by divinity. I don’t remember him in the game being blessed by a priest or the pope. (Reminds me of the Army Beret where the crest is blessed by at least the 3 major religions.) I like the logo too! And the graphics were sweet! Though, the last part before the Hitman title came out, the 2 pistols, the look like glock. I thought there were supposed to be silverballers as depicted in the game. They should have at least get something that was similar to silverballers…

The movie, well… Initially, 47 was supposed to be casted by Vin Disel and I felt that he was not suitable because I felt he was more of the destruction derby type, not what 47 is supposed to be, stealthy and lethal. Though brute force and mass destruction will do fine sometimes, haha! I was kind of disappointed with the guy from Transporter series, Jason Statham, not being 47 in this movie. He had almost anything to be 47. To me, he even resembles 47 totally! Everytime seeing him on TV reminds me of 47… Weird. But he does go insane sometimes, especially when pissed off… Seen in Crash and Transporter series. Personally, I think he is the best match to 47 compared to other actors.

But they brought in another guy, whom I remember not seeing him act before. Timothy Olyphant. He gives that kiddy, baby face look, not one that I often associate with an assasin… His performance in the teaser seems above average, but final verdict will be out when the movie is released. At first glance, he doesn’t give that “ai zai” or assasin material look. Just hope he does well and not dissapoint, especially to Hitman fans.

Movie should be released a few days after my birthday! 12/10/07, based on the information provided by the teaser trailer.

Hehe, just bought my 500GB harddisk just now @ Funan. Walked like 1hour plus scouting for other similar products and spent even more time at home doing research. Should have made my purchase at PC Show 07, but I hate beating the crowd, so I took my time and settled for the Western Digital Essential External Harddisk Drive. 500GB! for $259, quite close to PC Show price @ $229. Initially interested in Seagate’s Freeagent, 5 year warranty, multiple interface, reasonable price too, but had little stock and was tight on cash. I had to take a loan from my mum just to get this thing. At least it was a plain vanilla external drive, no frills attached with only a 3 year warranty. Thought of Maxtor though, but their prices were kind of high and some products came with only a 1 year warranty.

The sickening part was, I went to Challenger and in my best of knowledge, I knew that Challenger would be more expensive compared to those retail shops. Guess what I found out, it was indeed more expensive, @ $279. But, the catch, members get a $20 bucks discount! So its $259, same as the retail shop offered and I can even got Challenger points!!! ARGH!!#@!$@$ I almost broke the CDs in my hand that I was going to buy… This shows we can never expect the least. WTH!

At least I am enjoying my new drive right now. It has a big fat button that On/Off the device and has a simple modern design or pleasing aesthetics. But I guess the Seagate Freeagent would be better in this department with the blue lights, though haven’t seen it in action. Partition the drive from FAT32 to NTFS and into 3 different partitions. Now, making a copy of my valuable files, especially my dear pictures. Time to get back to backing up my stuff. Chao!
