Met my doctor cum surgeon today. He did a checkup on my repaired legs and answered questions posed by my parents. He is a pretty funny guy and cracked quite a few jokes just now. Probably because he was too bored & lonely at his new office. Sad thing was he said I couldn’t ride a bike for another month to two. Dammit… Seems like it is pointless for me to get my Scott Speedster S40.

By the time I get my bike and can cycle, within 3-6months, I would be likely to going for the other knee operation… Then another 3 months of physiotherapy and no cycling. Sian.

He even stated that in 2 months I could run, only on a treadmill or straight road, no twisting till around the 5th or 6th month after operation. I didn’t realised rehab was that long. Good thing I still can run by the 3rd month but no sports and games. Looks like I am stuck to stationary exercises for now. Anyone has a spare gym machine? Ah… Can go to Yong Hou’s condo! Free somemore! He still has another month or so before enlistment. He can join me and train to be a dolphin. If you don’t understand why a dolphin, he’s going into NDU, diving unit, kinda like Navy Seals or the SAS or Rangers.

TattooDamm tired… Dunno why, went back to SRJC, passed a few stuff and left immediately. Got a tattoo from Miss Liu. Tanks for the comments… You could have told me to bring a shaver, save you some trouble tattooing my “hairy” hands… Skipped BDS Alumni meeting.

Watched Ocean’s 11, classic movie.

This is an ODAC event organised by VJC. Well, what I gotta say here is that their video is pretty good. Choice of music not bad, good filming and directions but the editor sucked. No harmed meant.

Check it out here.

Probably I would cover the event like Ad-Jam, gain more experience, but depends on the condition of my leg nearer to the event. They going to bike 35 clicks!!! Hahas, my favorite part. Just almost half of my typical bike trip.

Just bought my first Crumpler, the 7 Million Dollar Home camera shoulder bag. Got it for $152, exactly $14 off the retail price! (Saving money for my bike.) Similar price to the Lowepro D400AW which was also the same size. The Crumpler stole the limelight from the Lowepro.

First the design, it looks smaller even with the same capacity as its competitor. 2nd, I wanted a Crumpler. 3rd, it felt more cushy compared to the D400AW. I just tested it. Fits my D50 with 17-55 f/2.8D, SB-800, 55-200mm f/4-5.6, Polar 750ml bottle and a Goretex Raincoat. It still has space for a couple of magazines and accessories. It is also quite light on the shoulder despite the heavy load.

I bet I can squeeze in two full DSLR bodies, a 17-55mm f/2.8D, 70-200mm f/2.8D VR and 2 or 3 SB-800 with space to spare.

Also got another filter, ND8. Can do 3 stops down, approximately cuts off 60-70% of incoming light. Time for some experimental shots!!!

I have spent 3 days doing this bloody video… Technically its only about 8 hours as I didn’t want to have more sleepless nights again… I got to say. It is probably the most massive and complex video I have ever done YET and using Adobe Premiere Pro. Finally I have understood how to use this complicated but powerful software.

I have always given up on Premiere and resorted to the crappy Windows Movie Maker or some other editing software because Premiere is too hard to understand and every new version changes the layout again and again. Also, it is pretty taxing on almost any computer hardware, unless you own a Mac Pro with 8 Intel Cores , 16GB of RAM and 4 Nvidia 8800GTS graphic cards.

Wanted to do like 8-10 minutes worth of video. In the end, I ran out of gas at 5 minutes plus. Anyway, here’s a screen shot of the workspace while doing the video, the time line is compressed. (Click for bigger image.)

First time I have used 7 video and 4 audio tracks… OMG… This can show you how complex my work was like. I wonder how movies are made… Pity.

Lastly, enjoy the video and do give me your sincerest comments.

Video shows up in IE but not in Firefox. Firefox users can use IE Tab. I suspect its because how Firefox handles WMV files.
