Hahas. Finally I have found a way to mate my D50 flash and SB-800 flash. Finally my D50 can control my SB-800! In a rudimentary and maybe crude way. By “Law” this ain’t suppose to happen because D50 doesn’t have what we call a commander mode. But tanks to Clubsnap forum, I was introduced a new way.

Still playing around with my new found method of doing wireless flash! Wahahas. Too bad I didn’t find out of this earlier… Waste. This is what you get when you get an entry-level DSLR. Initial testing seems like the mating works perfectly, now is how do I manipulate the output of flash. Hmmm…

Also, tanks to Clubsnap forum, I sold off my Lowepro Deluxe Waistbelt, Lens Case LC1N, Ex 160 Bag and Rover AW II. Sold all the items for a grand total of $160. Considering I spent $250 or more originally, I guessed I got a pretty good deal. Done that in a matter of days. I am quite shocked at the response of people wanting to get these bags. Hmms. But my lens offer ain’t doing so well…. Patience and I will get my money!

I was watching Futureweapons, the TV show, displaying all the weapons, both upcoming and in service. 2nd time (maybe even 3rd) I watched this episode. Showcased the M32 Grenade Launcher, 6 round 40mm capacity. Quite cool actually but after doing some research, I realised one stupid drawback: each round has to be manually reloaded into the chambers. There’s no magazine function! Which I think is pretty screwed up idea. Imagine you are behind a wall, under fire, trying to reload the 6 rounds.

Panicking, fear of being killed, your friends falling around you, how can one possibly reload the damm rounds into the chambers with hands shivering? On the other hand, imagine yourself carrying a few magazines (assuming they create a magazine model next time), its going to pretty heavy. Being bogged down while travelling can cause the body to experience fatigue easily. And at the front line, you probably be too tired to aim and shoot accurately.

The scary thing of these 40mm grenade rounds, especially HE ones, they have a kill radius of 5m! Probably an injury radius of 10m or more. Just one exploding beside you, you wouldn’t know what hit you. And these things don’t have tracer rounds, so you can’t see them coming…

I did more research and found out something moronic. Those belt-fed grenade launcher machine guns (yes, machine guns that shoot grenade rounds), shoot at extremely high rate, hence the machine gun moniker. The rate is about 300 rounds/min. Put yourself in the position being pounded with so many grenades… I wouldn’t want to be on the end of the barrel. Anyway, the irony is that the cartridge box has only 40-60 rounds. See the difference? Squeeze the trigger a few times and you gotta reload… They are probably being dumb or scrimpy. Since these guns are usually mounted on a vehicle, they can carry larger cartridges right? Imagine you shooting off a large force of enemy from the top of a Humvee and constantly got to reload and in fear of being sniped off the top.

And the host of the TV show, he’s just comical. He doesn’t have the ex-SEAL look at all. He can do advertisements for companies making weapons and maybe other products. He just seems like a small boy in a large toy shop. He’s just a joy to watch.

Yesh! Finally, I have found a theme that almost fit my bill. For starters, this is the most advanced theme I have come across. The theme itself has 7 different schemes and so many other options to adjust. Its just amazing.

I am still tweaking the theme further to get the colors right and I believe I am barely scrapping the surface of this amazing theme.  I have also mix and matched the various scheme together to get a more vibrant and ‘customized’ theme. Still U/C.

Started sulking in the morning, because of what happened the previous day. Went to visit my Grandparents at Chua Choo Kang there… Kinda too long since I last visited them. Its being too long till they are almost slipping off my mind. This ain’t good. As usual, my family & relatives being idiotic and bizzare. Quarrel here and there over soap, cloth, water, flowers and many other stuff. I think its a tradition in the Nyan family, maybe because its a Khek/Hakka thing, runs in the blood?

Went IMM, eat, shop/window shop @ Popular, Daiso, Popular, Apple outlet and Giant. Dad dropped me at ECP to meet the ODAC juniors who have some blading cum gathering. Dark clouds loomed overhead but luckily it was a passing one. First thing I did when I was at ECP was shit. 2nd time for the day. (1st was at IMM) Had a large Coffee Bean Mocha Ice Blended and Chocolate Muffin! Muffin rocks, but the Mocha Ice Blended had too much milk and kinda ruined my appetitie for the delicious muffin. Didn’t call the other J3s since most of guys were celebrating getting their NS posting, the girls were working and it was kinda last minute when I knew.

The juniors went to blade while I did something I shouldn’t do. Bike. Made this possibly life-threatening decision on my own. Missed biking and my dear bike. Well, was kinda nervous riding a bike especially when I am so early in the recovery phase. But it felt good, like I was a caged bird and released. I guess the rental bike would break my leg with a much higher probability than using my lovely bike.

I prep the BBQ fire, they cooked, I helped too and ate. Chit chat here and there, interacted with the junior juniors. Those who went were pretty enthusiastic, might be potential exco members. I have yet to see the rest yet. Then hear the J2s moan here and there. Reminds me of my JC time. After that, packed up and had water parade. No, was a water fight. Hahahs. Another thing I shouldn’t have done, slippery floor = not good for my legs.

Took cab home, sent Nadia and Jungyi home, gave the taxi driver some tips since my mood was much better after the cycling and gathering. Shit again. Now having green tea to cleanse my body! Whahas. Probably might take another dump tomorrow morning. ROFL!

Probably will be grounded at home after this.

Its now a time for waiting and no more buying of computers, especially laptops.

Intel is coming out Quad Core Mobile processors, for your laptops!!! Woots. Hehehs. When’s Apple going to release its Quad Core version of Macbook Pro? I think even Macbook processors might be upped an ante, probably faster Core 2 Duo processors with larger cache but not likely to receive a Quad Core one.

Well, I believe only the high end laptops will receive this upgrade, such as Alienware or Macbook Pro and prices might remain sky high for quite awhile. But the vanilla Core 2 Duo based laptops should see a drop in prices. I guess when this new laptops comes out with the new chips, I expect to see articles of batteries exploding, heating up or melting parts of the laptops.

Why? Quad cores eats Watts like the Cookie Monster in a cookie shop and batteries ain’t up to such a high requirement. Even if they develop higher capacity batteries, they might be rushed into production without proper testing and real life scenarios. Or, the PC might just heat up like a toaster due to the “hottish” nature of the processor. Ladies and Gentlemen, if you ‘happen’ to own such a laptop or use it, don’t use it near your ___. Unless you want sterilization! Hahas.

Now, when’s Intel coming out its eight-core processor? Since computing stuff always in multiples of two when technology changes. Anyone know what’s the proper word for eight? As in like four is quad, 2 is duo, and three is trio (although it sounds horrible, Trio Core, more like Threesome =p) And when’s AMD going to fight back? Taking forever for AMD to sort out its mess.
