Yesterday got ODAC outing, not even one month we meet up again. Funny, I guess we really miss each other. Morning meet Shu Qi, Qian Qian, Hui Li, Veron at Bedok Sheng Shiong go buy ingredients to prepare picnic. After that, bought breakfast and went to my house.

Ate breakfast and started cooking after that. Girls settled the sandwiches while I helped here and there before starting to pan-fry 2 packets of nuggets. Nuggets were pretty nice, especially the one in the red packet, non-clear one, forgotten the brand, American one. Then QQ took over her onion rings while HL settled the Japanese chicken nugget.

YH & RP came later and we flagged two cabs down to ECP. Guess after being adults, taking cab especially with 3 people is now so much more value for money.

Met up with Daphanie and started eating the food we cooked. The pan-fried food still tasted pretty good and then we went off to play volleyball. Volleyball at ECP seems pretty odd, but what the heck. Then there was some swimming accompanied with more food later. More chit chat sessions before we started cleaning up. We also saw an old couple reminiscing the younger days they had… Machum rated M-60 show…

We then went proceeded off to Parkway Parade where people started leaving while we met up with others. Ate at Pastamania for dinner and met Cheryl from SRJC SC there. After that, we went to havoc a few stores before we separated again. I went home with majority of the leftovers and now here I am rotting in front of my PC. Still feel oily and sticky from the ECP seawater and scrubbing myself twice… All the frigging ships dumping crap into the sea. I still think Sentosa water is cleaner despite it being coming from the same sea…

Waiting for SQ to upload her pictures as she taken the most photos, but her blog like privatised already… Upload pictures but only view by invites, waiting for her to send me her pix. Lazy to upload mine. I should get rid of my procrastination, its creating a list of stuff I need to finish…

Just uploaded the SRJC Olympics 2008 pictures into my gallery.

Sorry for the delay, just procrastinating on uploading the pictures online even though I have finished scrutinising and editing them.

Will put a selection of pictures from the Olympics and along with others here hopefully by tomorrow.

Same story, but count the number of times a black lunch box is passed around. Users who watched the last video might find this relatively easy to know the flaw in the show. I personally feel this test video is more obvious for the front part ONLY. You would know after watching.

Finally, I have crossed the 60km mark while cycling under 2 hours 30 minutes, excluding the additional 30 minutes plus plus of waiting for traffic lights and a 3 minute pit stop. Today was also the time when I finally ached my quads while cycling. Rarely get to do this. Looks like I really pushed myself today.

Peddled pretty fast today, averaging about 34 km/h on flat roads, uphill on 15 degree angle about 26km/h. Not bad. Rode from home to Ubi, Hougang Mall, pass SRJC, up the flyover, out pass the field beside Cedar Girls school, Lavendar, down the underpass/mini-tunnel near Beach Road, pass Suntec city, pass Esplanade, the Singapore Orchestra, SGH, Chinatown, SMU, up and down the hills at Orchard, Orchard Road, SMU, ECP, up the hill at Siglap and down the hill to Bedok, pass TJC, Tanah Merah and home.

I wonder how long it would take to finish this 60++ km with a road bike. Assuming I can average 40km/h, maybe 2 hours? Shiok. If I can do 34km/h on my 6th rear gear, maybe I can obtain 40km/h on gear 8. But sadly, its too worn out to be used. But the air resistance at 40km/h might get too unbearable especially on a modified MTB bike.

Interestingly, my stamina was weak at the start, but after that, my legs were the one slowing me down. My ass wanted me to go home too… Imagine seating for 2 hours 30 minutes on that seat. Hot, sweaty and dirty seat. Maybe its time for me to change my seat.

Funny thing was, my sis asked me where I was biking before I left. I said Orchard there. She replied, isn’t it crowded there? Then I said, that’s the idea!

Almost got myself killed at least 4 times today. I remembered two were from dashing across a red light. What the heck am I doing? Am I an adrenaline-speed junkie going overboard?

Going through the pictures I took on SRJC Olympics, a.k.a Sports Day, I think my lenses and fast action scenes are overpowering my D50. I can barely get good focusing in my pictures on fast moving actions and this irritates me.

I think by the time my camera focus and takes a shot, the subject is beginning to get out of focus. This makes the pictures out of focus and maybe too soft, even though the develop settings are set to sharper. Dammit!

Sometimes it’s just human error where I depress the button too much before the camera focuses and the camera blindly takes a shot.

Looks like I need to do more practising on fast moving objects and I need a new body… Anyone? D3?

Come to think of it, I gotta salute those photographers who shoot fast action scenes like soccer matches.
