<<———————-Post bumped up———————->>

Finally, back home from my ACL operation! Left knee this time. Damm SHIOK!!! My leg seems to be recovering pretty fast, walking without crutches by day 3/4 but still with the “Terminator” like brace.

Now’s the time for me to scrap a few items from my to-do list. Just implemented a gallery in my blog. Would probably be closing down the old one. This new one is so much nicer and easier to intergrate into my blog. {I need volunteers to add description to the pictures… Especially ODAC pictures. Anyone? Leave your name in the comments box}

19th ODAC - SQ
20th ODAC - Branson
Rest of pictures - Me…

Pictures from Jenny’s departure, hopefully up by the weekends…
Its up already, here’s the picture list. (Anyone wants to help me add description and live to the pictures?)
Below’s the slideshow. (Mouse over near bottom centre for navigation bar.)

Modify a Air Revitalisor/Freshener meant for car use to home use.

Use a old unused Sony Ericsson charge, replaced the car 12V adapter with it and it works like a charm! Though slower. Output from the charge is only like 4.8V and barely half an ampere.

In the end, I used my unused iPod charger, provides the required 12V and about 1A, much more powerful now. My 3rd Gen iPod died a few years back… Its buried in its original packaging.

P.S: That’s my operated leg in the left background. =)

Port over all the pictures from my old gallery over to the new one by weekend.

Check out my new gallery ->> I mainly kept the 2008 photos and a few selected 2007. More to come soon. Going to close down the old gallery soon. Any rioters against me?

Pictures and VIDEO from my ACL operation should be uploaded soon.
Change my bandage, Eat tons of medicine, Ice my leg. (still doing…)

I just bought and read the July/August 2008 copy of PC Photo magazine for my recent operation to pass time while recuperating on the hospital bed.

Cost: SGD$13.80 (Borders)
Pages: About 90 in all. 1/3 to 1/2 of the magazine is spread with advertisments or sales.
Main Article: DSLR Sensors Exposed
Other Articles: Beyond Megapixels, What To Know About Your Digital Camera’s Core Component, Tips for Action Shots, Black & White Prints, Shoot Underwater, Wide Lenses.
Website: http://pcphotomag.com

The feel of the magazine at first is average. Paper quality is very suspectible to water damage and tearing. It is too light, around 60-70gsm. The glossy look irritates the viewer under most lighting conditions as there is either glares or white spots due to light sources.

Content:
Multiple content from various disciplines, but there does not seem to be any direction for the magazine. They are just covering everything under the sun but without enough depth or detail. Some of the articles are too technical which most readers wouldn’t bother much about. Quite a handful sections of each article can be easily found online with an internet search. The pictures used in their articles are of medicore level, nothing spectacular… It seems like the advertisments and the viewers’ submission of pictures for a competition was a few notches better than what is provided by the editorial board itself.

Checking out the website, I realised a number of the articles online and some were almost and exact copy, with the same pictures. I feel cheated…

Overall Rating:
5.5/10
Good but expensive for casual reading or toilet paper. Might prove useful for hobbyists, amateurs and those new to photography and photoshop. Not the magazine for one to improve one to the advanced level. If you have a internet access, check the website, don’t buy the magazine, unless you are on the move and need some reading materials.

I stumbled onto this website, openDemocracy.net when reading an article posted on my cuz’s blog, Liana. The article was on photography and the impact of digital technology and more. I am still trying to understand what is being expressed in the article because the English used is too frigging profound. Singlish: Knn, chim.

So instead of trying to generate more brainpower to further analyze the article, at 1AM in the morning as I wish to sleep soon, I did a simple search at the website.

Keyword: SINGAPORE (Singapore + Democracy = Interesting)

Just a few clicks and I found two interesting articles, the first; Singapore’s phoney democracy which was still readable with minimal brainpower, the second; A Loong and winding road, required more brainpower but still manageable.

Amazing, these two articles generates similar feelings that I felt regarding the “democracy” in our lovely sunny Singapore. Well, before I “accidentally” type something “wrong” and MSD or a handful of MPs come knocking on my door. I would love to hit the sack and catch some beauty sleep.

I would recommend the a/m website for those needing help/examples for their GP/English Language/Political Sciences or similar. Also a good site for serious reading on democracy (obviously), keeping up to date and improving our wonderful Singlish.

Website features prominent contributors like Kofi Annan and who can forget the bushman himself and daddy, George W Bush, father and son. Those two bushes’ articles were mainly extracts from their speeches which openDemocracy.net just wanted to, well…. EXTRACT? Hahas. I like the young bush article where the audience only HOOAH!!! and applauded during various interim. (Maybe a sign of declining intelligence in America where everyone just aimlessly follows the cock head?)

My family cats have been acting weird recently, especially after I returned home from my 2nd ACL operation.  Tiger, the male one is acting the most weird, like some gay pussy. He doesn’t dare to come near me often and would never enter my room at all… Luckily, the female cat, Coco still know who I am and would want my attention. But something still mystifies her once in a while.

After a day of pondering, I theorised it could be my leg brace that could be scaring that pussy cat. With that brace on, I look like a Terminator which probably scared the guts out of that tiger. So out of his sight, I took off the brace and approached him again, but to no avail even after 2 days of trying.

So, back to more pondering and I realised Coco was always interested in the balloons when she entered my room and Tiger would just be at high alert, sensitive to every noise, a distance from my room.

By the way, if you are wondering why I have balloons in my room, its not because I have any fetish or I am mentally screwed but rather I was tasked to keep those balloons. The 2 balloons were of colorful kind with encouraging words and were gifts from Shu Qi, Daphanie and Veronica when they visited me while I was hospitalised for my recent operation. They said I had to keep the balloons unless my life was worth sacrificing for. Obviously, the former proved a better option. I still have things on my bucket list and I ain’t kicking the bucket anytime soon.

Back to the cats… While I was shifting the balloons, Coco got pretty interested with them and the strings attached to the it. I then wondered maybe the balloon might be the object scaring Tiger shitless. So I took one balloon brought it near to the cats. (Imagine a limping guy carrying a balloon… Weird right?) The cats played with the string but it was one of cats favourite things to play with, strings. Still, the Tiger was reluctant to come out. Then I took the balloon and pushed it slowly and close to the faces of the cats and that got them running away, pronto. Repeated it a few times to verify my new theory with 100% accuracy.

Tada, I found the freaking answer that was bothering me for half of the week, BALLOONS. My cats were scared of balloons. The most fearful of the balloons is a male cat. Where’s the honor in that, a male scared of a simple balloon that would not hurt it? Pussy cat.

Suddenly, a flashback occurred, a similar case happened in the human race, not just in the meow meow race.

LOW RUI PENG.

He’s also scared of balloons. Blow a very big big one, put it right at his face and threaten to poke it with a needle and one could see the alternative side of a scary face. (Most people say he look like some chao ah beng.) RP would just immediately curled up into a ball and scream in pain, begging for the victimizer to bring the balloon far far away. OR, he could just run away setting a new 100m Olympic record. 8-)

Note: Above stunt works WEF 5m or closer. Put beside him for maximum effect and potency. Increase size of balloon for exponential rise in effects.

Warning: Please get a good balloon and don’t put too much air into it such that it blows up in your face. And don’t be a frigging idiot by blowing up anybody’s ear drums.
