Pictures up on facebook.

Another gathering, this time with the intended purpose to celebrate mooncake festival and play and burn some lanterns.

Met up at Bedok to shop for groceries @ NTUC with Qian Qian, Daphanie, Chin Kheng and Yong Quan. Bill was at $75.20, personally, I thought it would cost more. Yong Hou joined up during payment and we proceeded off to look for some fireworks and lanterns. Found a small shop on the way to the interchange, grab 10 lanterns, 10 sticks, 2 boxes of candles, a box of sparklers and a box of cards before heading off to take the bus to home.

RP, as usual, late. Joined us up and cause us to miss a bus… Waited another 15minutes for the next bus. Yong Quan left us for another birthday party and we went on with our business.

At a shop near my house, a few of us grabbed the amazing home-made ice-cream. I got my favorite soursop sorbet. Shiok for a hot day. Shu Qi and Reuben was found waiting outside my house like morons when they could have gone inside… We unloaded the food and started setting up the table, chairs, steamboat and etc.

By 1845 HRs, SQ was too hungry, some of us started the feast while the rest played Resident Evil: The Umbrella Chronicles on Wii. Surprisingly, the food seemed quite alot. $75.20 and a bowl of marinated beef seemed enough to feed 15-20 people when we only had just over 10. Joel made it in time for dinner. While Hui Li and Jonathan came after some stuff they had…

Stupid weather poured heavy rain on us and we had to shift the whole table… And the stupid stray (I think) cat that kept irritating me by trying to get into my house. Samuel joined us after his church as we were about to finish dinner. Desert was mooncake made by my mum, sis and me! Baked moocakes, plain and with egg. Sadly, I forgot to take the snow-skinned moocakes. Damm!

We went off to play Wii and DS. Everyone seems to be addicted to Nintendo stuff these days… Even Chin Kheng who has a PSP intends to get a DS soon… Was like around 2300 HRS, we took a group photo before SQ and Daph had to leave early because SQ had curfew… Sadded.

Jeremy, itchy to play mahjhong, got Hui Li, Reuben and Samuel as his playing kakis. After a few rounds, Samuel’s last contact lens dropped out and tore. (His first one dropped during dinner.) He withdrawed from mahjhong and I took over his seat for a new round and playing my DS at the same time… Hahas. Reuben left shortly around midnight.

The remaining few continued playing Wii, DS and majhong. A few “soldiers” hit the floor/sofa/chairs to sleep after a tired week serving NS.

By 0400 HRS the next day, most were dead asleep in my living room. I chased them up my room where it was more comfortable to sleep and would not be disturbed by my family in the morning. Hui Li, Jonathan and Me went to clean up the dishes and pack the tables/chairs. After than, Hui Li and Jonathan left and walked to Tanah Merah MRT station to catch the early trains.

I joined the rest in my room to catch some nice sleep. Didn’t catch much before Joel, CK and Samuel took off for the early bus. Left me, YH, RP, Jer and QQ. RP took my bed, Jer and QQ shared a sofa bed I had in my room (romantic!), YH had my sleeping bag on the floor. I took the other part of the floor with a blanket and pillow.

After a few hours of sleep, the remaining few woke up, washed up and took their leave. Me, I hit the bed again with the intention of waking up at 1300HRS to go to Bedok Corner for my favorite Black Carrot Cake. I did woke up for like seconds before dozing again till 1800HRS…. Another day my carrot cake…

Well, everyone had fun and we had too much left-overs… $75.20 of NTUC, 1KG ++ of beef, mooncakes and unknown amount of rice was too much food for 12 people…

Frig… I was struck down with fever since yesterday and it comes and goes when it wants to… Crap. Morning, fever + stomach/gastric pain + vomit + total lost of appetite. After hours of sleep and a bathe. Back to normal.

Then today again.  Fever @ 38.1 degree celsius. Same routine, less the stomach/gastric pain and I lost some of my appetitie. Body system returned to normal by lunch time after more sleep. Weird shits.

Treated myself to pizza from Bedok Corner. Taste pretty good, maybe better than Pizza Hut. SGD$12 for I believe 10″. Can feed 2 people. Thanks to Bro for helping me get the pizza and don’t get emo over the pizza shop… HAHAHAS.

Wilson and Victor coming to visit me on “Official SAF house visit” soon. Should be going down now to welcome them because it takes me 5 minutes to climb my house stairs… Argh…

Just came back from cycling cum mini class gathering. I was actually about to go cycle and sms-ed Rui Peng whether he was in school doing PT and maybe can meet up. Little did I know, got last minute gathering. So biked down to Hougang area and cycled around there before proceeding on to CHOMP CHOMP!

I was too early… Reached at 1845. Joanne came at around 1900. Jasmine - 1910, Rui Peng - 1920, Kai Qing - 1940….. Others couldn’t come, either just booked out or got work/lessons…

Had a $3 sugar cane drink. I was sceptical about drinking that much for fear of vomiting halfway on my ride home later. We ordered satay, stingray, carrot cake, hokkien mee and beancard! Beancard tasted weird, like vanilla flavoured ice-cream or filled with lots of milk/cream. I still prefer the plain beancard with sugar syrup!!! Sinful… Rest of the food was great. All of us had fun time reliving the JC time… Too bad the other classmates weren’t there, if not Chomp Chomp would have an earthquake like what happened recently in other parts of the world….

I was pretty filled up to the brim and yet Jasmine wanted to go to Ice Cube for ice-cream… Place was nice, I like the environment, though a little too noisy. A few had problems keeping their asses glued to the tall bar seats… Deserts? Fabulous, though ice-cream was slightly too sweet. I somehow still prefer my Ice Cream Gallery’s home-made ice-cream and their special cones (the cones don’t go soft even placing it in open air…) We also did some redesigning of the shop furniture… Using chocolate fondue to draw smiley faces! Hahahas.

After that, waited for the rest for their buses to arrive before zooming off back in the direction of home. Reached home pretty fast even with some light detouring. Took me about 40minutes to cover about 18km. Traffic lights were somewhat against me, so lots of waiting but my median speed on flat roads was approximately 32km/h with light traffic. Max speed on flat roads - 43km/h.

I think all the food has been burned by my excessive cycling. Supper? Lols… Bad bad bad.

Now cooling down before taking a bath soon.

Ka-chng and Joan, if you are reading this, I want the pictures!!!

I think I should get a portable digicam to complement my DSLR…

I think everyone should watch Jamie Oliver’s Return to School Dinners TV series. It shows how pathetic (some may disagree with me) how the kids to teenagers in England are eating. From morning to night, it is probably junk food, deep fried fries, burgers, hot dogs. He even interviewed a specialist at a local hospital which created a special clinic just for kids who have eating disorders. There was even a case where a kid did not shit for 6 months because of the junk food they are eating… I think I see evidence for GP!!! Heh heh.

When Jamie tried asked some kids to identify some vegetables, some called asparagus an anion… Bloody hell… The best part was, they could identify fast food logos with little effort. Furthermore, kids brought lunch boxes to school, threw their sandwiches away and ate snacks like chocolate bar and crackers.

At least, in today’s episode, he managed to convince a bunch of young children to eat healthy food and got them to like them even keeping it within the school’s budget. He even got fellow kids to prepare and serve food for the rest.

I really think that England’s food system is flawed and should get a revision quick, if not I am afraid teenagers are going to die early due to junk food and England would face a health crisis. Cheerios to Jamie’s efforts and hope he persists on to change the system for the better!

If you are interested, his TV series is on Channel 16 of Starhub service, I think its Travel and Adventure or something. If I am correct, it shows on weekdays only, 9pm.
